Somerset is blessed with many beautiful places to walk with your dog, from the ancient hill forts surrounding Upper Vobster Farm to the many historic National Trust houses, all offer a superb day out with your four legged friend.


A hearty climb up the steep incline to the top of Cheddar Gorge will not only give your dog a proper stroll, but reward you with breath taking views across the Somerset countryside.

Forming part of the impressive natural skyline near Longleat Safari Park, the ancient hill fort of Cley Hill near Warminster provides the intrepid walker with panoramic views of Somerset and Wiltshire. A gentle winding path leads you steadily up its steep slopes to the hill top excavations and the trigonometry point on its crown.

Those who enjoy a bit of history can visit several National Trust properties within an hour's drive of Upper Vobster Farm. Lytes Cary Manor with its Arts & Crafts gardens has three circular walks that takes you through its the abundant woodlands, orchards and meadows.
