Upper Vobster Farm is a unique and beautiful Country Farm property, lovingly restored over the last 30 years into a place where you can be assured of a welcome at all times.
The Farm offers a completely safe space to let go of all the stresses and pressures that life can bring. It’s a place that everyone who visits can feel as if they’re coming home - an opportunity to take the time and space to stop and simply be.
As well as having a variety of boutique rooms, studios and cottages, each with its own front door, we have the capacity to hold events of all kinds, whether family reunions or celebrations, residential workshops or courses, business meetings or simply one-off gatherings. And if the weather’s good you can gather round the firepit.

We’re home to a variety of self-catering cottages and studio apartments, all unique in their own right, but all with the same exceptional quality and standard.
Catering for up to 8 guests in Somerset Soul (you can make it 10 guests if you include the Dairy) plus one very special dog or just 1 or 2 guests in one of our studios, there is something to suit everyone’s needs - each with its own front door.
The rooms and studios are at the heart of the farm. They're all ensuite and all have amazing kitchens or use of the Long Room kitchen.
Great care has been taken over every detail in every property to ensure that they will meet and exceed your standards and expectations.
To complete what’s on offer we're also a Tesla destination charging location for electric vehicles.

The Long Room Kitchen: designed for groups
What’s special about the Long Room at Upper Vobster Farm are the floor to ceiling windows that look down the valley past the duck castle. With this natural harmony, guests and delegates alike will feel totally supported to embrace and appreciate the event that they are attending.
Superfast 100Mbps dedicated fibre broadband. We can host up to 60 people and have a projector and screen, whiteboard and flipchart.
Next door is the fully equipped Long Room kitchen, which was designed for groups to prepare and share meals together and reflect and deepen with whatever the day has presented. And there is a separate meeting room for breakout discussions.

The Gym
The Middle Room: Multi-purpose room with kitchen sink, good for serving from, has tea and coffee making facilities. Here you will find water proof wellies and umbrellas for walks. Also find a small library of reference books on nature.

SPACE FOR WALKING
ANCIENT WOODLAND WILDFLOWER MEADOWS
The estate is made up of almost 55 acres that includes Shipperidge Wood, 5 acres of Ancient Woodland, mentioned in the Domesday Book and a Conservation Area for Birds of Prey. Here you are free to explore and walk and enjoy the abundance of local nature and wildlife in all its glory.
A stream winds its way through the valley below and there are two small lakes both teeming with wildlife. One has a beach area and a summer house with a day bed that can be reserved for a spot of quiet inspirational creativity; the other one is near an old stone bridge that leads you on to the ancient drovers way.
With the seasons comes a forever changing landscape, a cycle within a cycle. We love the snowdrops, daffodils, primroses, blue bells, wild garlic, violets and wild orchids each blooming from Spring to early Summer. Pick blackberries in September and photograph the colourful fungi in Autumn.

TRIANGLE COURTYARD
In the heart of the farm, a traditional farm courtyard with a triangular pond complete with fountains and fish offers a beautiful communal space to gather in the warmer months for an outdoor meal, informal meetings or somewhere to simply sit and contemplate.

OUR ANIMALS
Most of the year we get enough eggs from the hens and ducks to share with our guests. There’s a lovely mixture of ducks, who live in their own miniature Nunney Castle, complete with moat, a variety of quirky and charming bantams, an accredited flock of rare breed North Ronaldsay sheep, some pygmy goats and our ever friendly spaniel, Toby.

RESIDENTIAL VENUE
We have the capacity to provide accommodation
for any event for between 25 and 30 people and,
if necessary, can also recommend alternative
places to stay nearby.
As well as catering for families, all our accommodation is particularly suited and safe for a single person traveling alone and wanting to get away from it all to enjoy the peace & quiet in a gorgeous countryside setting.
