Upper Vobster Farm is a unique and beautiful Country Farm estate, lovingly restored over the last 36 years into a place where you can be assured of a warm welcome at all times.
The Farm offers a completely safe space to let go of all the stresses and pressures that life can bring. It’s a place that everyone who visits can feel as if they’re coming home - an opportunity to take the time and space to stop and simply be.
As well as having a variety of boutique rooms, studios and cottages, each with its own front door, we have the capacity to hold events of all kinds, whether family reunions or celebrations, residential workshops or courses, business meetings or simply one-off gatherings. And if the weather’s good you can gather round the firepit.

We’re home to a luxury farm house and a variety of self-catering cottages and studio apartments, all unique in their own right, but all with the same exceptional quality and standard.

Catering for a total of 26 guests, plus cots and trundle beds, there is something to suit everyone’s needs - each with its own front door.
Great care has been taken over every detail in every property to ensure that they will meet and exceed your standards and expectations.
Close to Babington House, Longleat Safari Park and the Roman City of Bath, plus a host of other historic attractions to visit including medieval market town of Frome, there are plenty of places to explore in the area.
To complete what’s on offer we're also a Tesla destination charging location for electric vehicles.

In the heart of the farm, a traditional farm courtyard with a triangular pond complete with fountains and fish offers a beautiful communal space to gather in the warmer months for an outdoor meal, informal meetings or somewhere to simply sit and contemplate.

THE FIRE-PIT
If the weather's good you can hire the fire-pit to have a special BBQ - not forgetting the marshmallows. Sited in the valley near the banks of the stream it is the perfect place to gather together on a warm summer's evening. If you need an expert hand, we can assist in getting it fired up.

SPACE FOR WALKING
ANCIENT WOODLANDS and WILDFLOWER MEADOWS
The estate is made up 45 acres of meadows and farmland including 5 acres of Ancient Woodland called Shipperidge Wood, mentioned in the Domesday Book, and a Conservation Area for Birds of Prey. Feel free to explore, walk and enjoy the abundant natural scenery and wildlife in all its glory.
The brook that winds its way through the valley below divides Upper Vobster Farm in two. Close to the farm situated in the wildflower meadows are two small lakes both teeming with wildlife. One has a beach area and a summer house that can be reserved for a spot of quiet inspirational creativity; the other is near the old stone bridge that takes you across the brook onto the ancient drover's way. The drover's way leads uphill towards Shipperidge Woods and the Oak field on top of the hill.
With the seasons comes a forever changing landscape, cycles within cycles. Snowdrops, primroses and daffodils herald in the Spring, followed by wild garlic, blue bells, violets and wild orchids in early Summer. Blackberries adorn the bushes in September and the colourful Autumn fungi complement the glow of turning leaves through to the first crisp frosts of Winter. Whatever the season, the farm is rich with opportunities to create magical memories and beautiful photos.

THE SUMMER HOUSE
Nestled above the top lake beside a gentle waterfall is the summer house with day bed and comfy chair - ideal for writing, painting or just resting, listening to the flow of the water and soaking up the afternoon sun.

Please remember that playing in or by or with water is what children like best and it is your responsibility to make sure that they are supervised by an adult at all times.

OUR ANIMALS
Most of the year we get enough eggs from the hens and ducks to share with our guests. There’s a lovely mixture of ducks, who live in their own miniature Nunney Castle, complete with moat, a variety of quirky and charming bantams, an accredited flock of rare breed North Ronaldsay sheep, some pygmy goats and our very friendly dogs, who love meeting and greeting all our guests.
FEEDING THE ANIMALS
You are welcome to help feed the animals in the mornings. The feed store is situated near the guests’ carpark so please meet one of the team there if you wish to join in the morning’s rituals. There is also a wooden playground near the farm paddocks with plenty of space to play games or simply run around.
